About the local hosting organization

AJUDE (Associação Juvenil Para o Desenvolvimento do Voluntariado em Moçambique) is a non-profit organisation which brings together young Mozambicans without distinction to race, sex, religion, tribe, level of education or any other way of discrimination. The idea of creating AJUDE dates back to 1993. Our main objectives are: a) To promote volunteer activities for young people in their spare time and holidays; b) To promote community development and encourage participation of community members in activities for their own benefit; c) To promote exchanges of youth volunteers in the different regions of Mozambique, Africa and the rest of the world; d) To send young Mozambican volunteers to participate in voluntary work in other countries; e) To promote international understanding through voluntary services; f) To provide opportunities for people in Mozambique to become aware of international issues.

Presentation of the programme

The volunteer will support AJUDE with marketing, communication and visibility work, including posting on social media and updating the AJUDE website, producing visibility/ promotion material for AJUDE and producing our newsletter.

About the accomodation

You will stay with a Mozambican host family.

About the location

The project is located in a very residential area of Maputo City. It is an area that offers many facilities, is safe and easey to access from any point of Maputo.

Requirements

Be able to communicate in English; Show passion for community work; Be open to learn and to share personal experience; Be active and creative; Be interested in social media; Have web development skills; Show interested on working in marketing, communication and publicity.
