Spain: ESC: Create Change for Our Planet – World Clean Up & Storytelling in Gran Canaria ⭐

Presentation of the programme

Join an international ESC team in beautiful Gran Canaria and help create positive change for our planet. Together, we work towards World Clean Up Day 2026 through clean ups, creative upcycling, environmental awareness activities, and community actions. Experience a plant based and slow living lifestyle while living and learning with young people from different countries. Activities include clean ups, gardening, creative reuse of materials, photography, video creation, and social media storytelling. Storytelling is an important part of the project. Participants help share environmental messages and inspire others across Europe. The project combines environmental action, teamwork, intercultural exchange, nature connection, and non formal learning. Make friends, gain new skills, enjoy island life, and create impact together.

About the accomodation

Volunteers are accommodated in shared housing in the beautiful mountains of Gran Canaria. Accommodation includes shared bedrooms, equipped kitchens, bathrooms, WiFi, bedding, towels, and comfortable communal spaces. Participants experience a plant based and low impact lifestyle and are involved in shared meals and daily living. Transport for project activities is organised by the host organisation. Public transport is available for personal travel and free time activities.

About the leisure activities

Participants learn through practical experience, teamwork, mentoring, and reflection in a non formal learning environment. Activities include environmental awareness, clean ups, storytelling, social media, creative upcycling, gardening, safe use of tools and equipment, plant based and slow living, intercultural exchange, social interaction, and community participation. Participants receive guidance from mentors and reflect on their learning through Youthpass and group reflection activities. Participants develop confidence, responsibility, and practical life skills.

Requirements

The Participant profile: We are looking for motivated young adults (18–30) who are curious, open minded, enjoy nature, and want to create positive change through environmental action, storytelling, and community life. Participants contribute to clean ups, Waste to Wisdom upcycling projects, gardening, biodiversity restoration, awareness campaigns, photography, video creation, and social media storytelling connected to World Clean Up Day and sustainable living. We welcome young people who want to be part of a large environmental awareness campaign and inspire others through hands on actions, creative communication, and social media. No experience is required. Selection is based on motivation, participation, willingness to learn, and contribution to community life. The project is open to young people with fewer opportunities. Participants should be comfortable living and working in a natural environment and taking part in shared responsibilities and activities.Deadline: 03/08/2026 13:00
