Mums pieder pasaule is a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) based in Latvia that aspires to empower youth and foster active civic participation. Our mission is to provide meaningful and skill-building activities for rural young people, helping them develop into informed, active, and community-minded individuals. Our main activities span a wide range of fields, including youth development, community service, cultural and civic partirticipation and volunteerism. We aim to fill a vital gap in our local community, especially in rural areas like Svitene and Viesturi, where opportunities for youth are limited. We arrange various programmes such as festivals, workshops, seminars, and community service initiatives, facilitating youth participation and promoting their holistic development. Our target groups primarily comprise the youth from these local communities. We also focus on local community members who are part of our festivals, cultural events, environmental and other activities. We believe that acquiring the QL will further our mission, as it will enable us to participate in the ESC, thereby extending our reach to more young individuals and offering them valuable opportunities for personal and societal growth. By securing the QL, we also hope to strengthen our commitment to the development of our young people, encourage their active participation in the local and international community, and foster an environment that promotes learning, tolerance, and understanding.

We are looking for a creative Social Media Guru for a long-term ESC volunteering project at Svitene Youth Centre! The main task is to help make youth centre activities, volunteering experiences and local community stories visible on social media. The volunteer will create short videos for Instagram Reels and TikTok, take photos and videos of events, workshops and daily activities, help record podcasts, and prepare posts for Instagram and Facebook. They will also contribute ideas for campaigns, video series and stories about young people, volunteering and European values. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys social media, photo and video content, creativity and communication with people. Professional experience is not required — motivation, willingness to learn and courage to try new ideas are the most important.

Volunteers will live in a shared two-room apartment with another volunteer, each having their own private room. The apartment is fully equipped with a kitchen, shower, washing machine, and free Wi-Fi. The project provides a monthly food allowance of 150 EUR and daily pocket money of 5 EUR. Travel costs for arrival and departure are covered, as well as local transport to and from project activities. Health insurance is included. As public transport in rural areas is limited, a bicycle can be provided if needed.

The volunteer will receive practical support and learning opportunities from the hosting organisation. They will be introduced to the work of the youth centre, social media tools and content planning. The volunteer will learn how to create short videos, take photos, prepare posts, record podcasts and communicate about volunteering and youth work. The volunteer will also receive mentoring and regular feedback to reflect on their learning process. They will take part in the official ESC training cycle, including on-arrival and mid-term training organised by the National Agency.

The Participant profile: We are looking for creative, motivated, and responsible participant aged 18–30 who is interested in social media, digital storytelling, and communication in an international environment. The Social Media Guru should enjoy creating photo and video content, making podcasts and sharing stories, and capturing meaningful moments from daily activities. Good digital and communication skills in English, openness, initiative, and the ability to work both independently and in a team are essential. Previous experience with social media platforms, photography, video, or content creation is welcomed but not required — curiosity, creativity, and a willingness to learn and actively engage in the project are most important.
