Concordia is a French non-governmental and non-profit making organization, founded in 1950 with the aim to promote international exchanges of young volunteers. Concordia's objectives are : - To contribute to the social life of communities through bringing together volunteers from different countries/regions and backgrounds ; - To facilitate European and international mobility and exchange of ideas, through international exchanges in order to develop knowledge, mutual understanding and peace. - To promote an educative project, encouraging an active citizenship of people for a democratic, united and participatory society. Concordia is a member of the Alliance of European voluntary service organizations, of the Coordinating Committee for International Voluntary Service (CCIVS –UNESCO), of the National Committee of Youth and Popular Education, and of Cotravaux (Coordination of French Voluntary Work organisations). Concordia has the approval of the French Ministry of Youth and Sports. Concordia has its headquarters in Paris and eleven regional delegations, including the Auvergne delegation, located in Clermont-Ferrand, coordinating projects in all Auvergne territory, including : - Organizing international volunteers workcamps ; - Sending, hosting and coordinating European Solidarity Corps projects ; - Working within the framework of the French Civic Service program ; - Organizing Youth Exchanges and Mobility of Youth Workers projects.
The volunteer will work with kids and teenagers in a Municipal Animation Center in the city of Cournon (Auvergne, France). His/her main role will be to introduce European dimension and “intercultural opening-up” to the actions of the city council's educational department and its partners. The idea is to raise awareness of local youngsters on European countries and help them to be more open-minded about multiculturalism through various leisure activities, taking place out of regular school hours. The volunteer will live in a shared apartment with other volunteers in Clermont-Ferrand. He/she will have a furnished room. The apartment has 4 bedrooms, a kitchen, a bathroom, 2WC and a living room; it is equipped and furnished to ensure a comfortable stay (washing machine, internet connection, etc.). Accommodation, services and expenses are 100% covered by Concordia. Financial support will be provided to cover expenses for food (9€ per day). Apart from that, the volunteer will receive pocket money (8€ per day).
The volunteer will take part in two trainings organized by the National Agency: one at the arrival and another one in mid-term. During 3 to 5 days, this will give you the opportunity to meet other volunteers and to have a support for your volunteering project (introduction to the Program and French culture).
The Participant profile: We are searching for an active and motivated person with the following qualities: - Interest to work with kids and with an animation team - Adaptation, to be communicative and willing to approach different audiences - Convinced by non-formal education principles and benefits - Speak English and/or French and interested to learn French - Motivated to become a facilitator for European projects, international work camps and to co-lead a group of international volunteersDeadline: 28/06/2026 23:59
