Estonia: ESC: ESC Volunteering at Lääneranna Youth and Cultural Center in Estonia

Presentation of the programme

Lääneranna Youth and Cultural Center coordinates the youth work of Lääneranna municipality through youth work units and in cooperation with educational institutions. The structural units of the youth center are youth rooms located in different areas of Lääneranna municipality. We are mainly operating in Lihula Youth Center, but as well in around areas in Lõpe, Kõmsi and Varbla Youth Centers. The main objective is to support young people, help them to create possibilities to volunteer at the local and international level. In previous years we coordinated many projects, involving more than hundreds of local youngsters in volunteering in local society and as well abroad. We promote Europe and its values to the local youth community. The mission is to empower youth work in Lääneranna parish, to create opportunities for young people to contribute to the local community and grow up to be responsible citizens. About the accomodation

ESC Volunteers will be provided with suitable accommodation conveniently located near their respective hosting organisation. Accommodation will typically be in a shared apartment or hostel, furnished with essential items. Rooms may be private or shared, depending on availability, with shared kitchen and bathroom facilities. Volunteers receive €5/day pocket money and additional €7/day food allowance, managing their own meals. International travel is reimbursed based on set travel budget and task related local transport is covered to full extent.

About the leisure activities

Volunteers will take part in the ESC training cycle organized by the Estonian National Agency, which focuses on personal development and intercultural learning. Additionally, EstYES organizes hikes and other activities for volunteers throughout the service period, providing opportunities for social interaction.

Requirements

The Participant profile: - Genuine interest in working with children and young people is essential— this is at the heart of the entire project. The volunteer should enjoy youth work or feel comfortable engaging with kids aged 7 to 18 - Ability to work independently when needed - Openness to the realities of living in rural Estonia - Confidence in using social media, along with an interest in photography or videography, is a plusDeadline:
