MOMENTUM is a European Solidarity Corps (ESC) Volunteering project implemented by Voluntariat Pentru Viață Association in Mărășești, Romania.The project aims to support youth development through non-formal learning, community engagement, and meaningful volunteering experiences. Momentum provides young people with a safe and inspiring environment where learning takes place through action, participation, and real human connections.Many small communities face challenges such as limited opportunities for young people, social isolation among vulnerable groups, and reduced access to non-formal education. Through their involvement, volunteers become active contributors to positive change while developing valuable personal, social, and professional competences. Volunteers participate in educational activities in primary, secondary, and high schools, creative workshops with children, community initiatives, environmental awareness campaigns, intercultural activities.

Volunteers are accommodated in fully furnished shared apartments in Mărășești, equipped with kitchen, bathroom, internet access and all necessary utilities. Participants receive monthly financial support for food and personal expenses, allowing them to manage their daily needs independently. International travel costs are reimbursed according to the European Solidarity Corps distance calculator and programme rules. The hosting organisation also provides assistance with travel arrangements and local transportation related to project activities, ensuring a safe and comfortable volunteering exp.

Volunteers will benefit from a comprehensive training and support programme throughout the project. At the beginning of the activity, participants will receive an induction training covering project objectives, tasks, intercultural learning, safety procedures and local community integration. Volunteers will also participate in regular Romanian language sessions, mentoring meetings, reflection activities and non-formal learning workshops. Continuous guidance will be provided by the project coordinator, mentor and activity supervisors.

The Participant profile: We are looking for motivated young people aged 18–30 who are open-minded, responsible and willing to learn through experience. Participants should enjoy working with children, young people and local communities, be interested in intercultural exchange and be ready to actively engage in team activities. No specific qualifications or previous volunteering experience are required. Creativity, initiative, flexibility, respect for diversity and a positive attitude are highly valued. The most important requirement is the motivation to contribute to the community while developing personal, social and professional skills in an international environment.Deadline: 31/08/2026 12:19
