About the local hosting organization

Amaita aims to build a global citizenship by promoting language learning and intercultural activities. We run educational and volunteering projects.We are a non-profit organization that aims to build a global citizenship by promoting the respect for the other cultures, people and human rights. Our main activities are:- Promotion of language learning as a key for intercultural dialogue and integration- Educational projects for children and youth. Our "School of the People" sees volunteers supporting children and youth and fostering a peer-to-peer approach;- Promotion of youth mobility,- Coaching youth to implement cultural and social initiatives- Organisation and implementation of volunteering projects.- Support of VET sector;- Organisation of cultural initiatives;- Focus on environmental education and promotion of a green and healthy lifestyle-Organisation of sport events for inclusionOur activities have as a main target the youth, since they have more opportunities to build their lives on a multicultural base and with an international view. We focus on the inclusion of people and youth with fewer possibilities and facing social or other obstacles.Our staff has expertise in coordinating volunteering projects, media and communication, coaching youth, organising events, non-formal education, environmental education, agriculture. We can include a wide range of associated partners.

Presentation of the programme

The volunteers may join the following activities: - Community Arts: workshops in community music, social theatre, social videomaking - Il Borghetto: maintenance of the community centre, bio-architecture and upcycling workshops, gardening - Soul Kitchen: sustainable cooking workshops, foraging walks, intercultural cooking events - Hospitality & Group Management: workcamps, artists' residencies, training courses - Community Animation: monthly fair, summer camps, community events - Digital Media: web radio, creation of video podcasts, digital storytelling. The activities will take place at the community culture centre "Il Borghetto", at Immaginaria's headquarters (hosting a coworking space and a multimedia room), and at the village's exhibition hall. All the venues are located in the historical centre of Pastene, within walking distance (5 mins. approx.) from our volunteers' accommodation.

About the accomodation

The project will take place in Pastene, a 600-inhabitant village in a rural area near the city of Benevento, in the Italian region of Campania. Here, in January 2026 Immaginaria opened the community centre "Il Borghetto", hosted in 2-storey house renovated by local volunteers: our ESC volunteers will stay on the second floor, designed for short- and long-term hospitality with its 2 bedrooms, bathroom, kitchen and living room (with a functioning fireplace included!)

The Participant profile: Here is some information that will help you understand this project is right for you: - Participants must be between 18 and 30 years old. - Participants must be interested in non-formal education and youth work. - Participants must be flexible and with a great spirit of adaptation to new contexts with deep cultural differences. - Participants must be able to work in a team. - Participants must be interested in working and living in rural areas.
