The ESC voluntary service will be carried out at reception facilities for unaccompanied foreign mi-nors (age14/18) and men or women, women with children. These young people are hosted in Catania, with governative funds. They live in flats, in a family context, under the 24/7 educational supervision of a multidisciplinary team. Volunteers have va-rious tasks, among them that of accompanying the operators in carrying out their normal daily routines, they should become relational reference points and guide in their integration process, expecially supporting and sharing work with them to increase their sense of initiative, social en-trepreneurship and solidarity work. Our young migrants are involved in the maintenance and care of green spaces, like the community garden within the Nodo, lands confiscated from organized crime turned into olive groves, and a wooded area inside the Etna Volcano Nature Park; to learn how to use tools and farming techniques.

The volunteers are hosted in an appartment in the city center with single rooms and fully equipped, with kitchen equipment, Wi-Fi. Andress: Via Conte Ruggero, 28 - Catania. According to Erasmus+ rules for Italy, the food money is 170€ per month and the pocket money il 6€ per day; every month a bank transfer will be made to each volunteer's personal account. Each volunteer will have travel reimbursement according to the rules defined in ESC 2025 Guide-line; the green travel are promoted.

Volunteers have various tasks, among them that of accompanying the operators in carrying out their normal daily routines by becoming relational reference points and supporting them in their integration in the community. Particular attention will be given in the support and shared work with minors and new adults in the communities, in the spaces of the Nodo in order to increase their sense of initiative, social entrepreneurship and solidarity work. They shoul join to basic Italian lessons, possible basic courses on agricultural techniques, and periodical monitoring meetings.

The Participant profile: The required qualities are openness to cultural diversity, ability to work in a team, initiative, and good communication energy. Artistic and entertainment skills, as well as previous volunteer expe-riences (such as scouts, civil service, charity work, etc.), will be seen positively. Volunteers who have studied humanities, social sciences, social economics, environmental studies (agronomy) or skills in the field of agriculture will also be viewed favorably. Also this year, particular attention is given to practical training in the social agricultural sector because of the activities our users are involved in. The use of tools and agricultural techniques, as well as awareness of creating and understanding a sustainable and organic ecosystem, are part of the goals of our offer.Deadline: 30/06/2026 14:00
