The Johannes-Diakonie Mosbach is a corporation under public law and was founded in 1880. It is a social service provider in the diaconal sector and sees itself as a regional and supraregional provider of services for people with disabilities and people with comparable support needs. The purpose of the Johannes-Diakonie is to promote - the assistance of people with disabilities and people who are disadvantaged in other ways or dependent on the assistance of others, - the inclusion of people with and without disabilities in the sense of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, - public health and public health care, - child, youth and elderly welfare, - education and vocational training, - the international spirit, tolerance in all areas of culture and the idea of international understanding, - art and culture, - sports for people in need of help, - civic engagement for charitable, benevolent and church purposes. For this purpose, in particular outpatient, day-care and inpatient facilities and services for living and working, for education and training, for assistance, support and care, for promotion and counseling, for care as well as fur inclusion, treatment and therapy are established, expanded and maintained. The Johannes-Diakonie Mosbach currently employs around 3,200 people. Die Johannes-Diakonie Mosbach ist eine Körperschaft des öffentlichen Rechts und wurde im Jahr 1880 gegründet. Sie ist ein sozialer Dienstleister im diakonischen Bereich und versteht sich als regionaler und überregionaler Anbieter von Dienstleistungen für Menschen mit Behinderungen und Menschen mit vergleichbarem Unterstützungsbedarf. Der Zweck der Johannes-Diakonie ist: - die Förderung der Assistenz von Menschen mit Behinderungen und Menschen, die in anderer Weise benachteiligt oder auf die Hilfe anderer angewiesen sind, - die Förderung der Inklusion von Menschen mit und ohne Behinderungen im Sinne der UN-Konvention über die Rechte von Menschen mit Behinderungen, - die Förderung des öffentlichen Gesundheitswesens und der öffentlichen Gesundheitspflege, - die Förderung der Kinder-, Jugend- und Altenhilfe, - die Förderung der Erziehung und Berufsbildung, - die Förderung internationaler Gesinnung, der Toleranz auf allen Gebieten der Kultur und des Völkerverständigungsgedankens - die Förderung von Kunst und Kultur, - die Förderung des Sports für hilfsbedürftige Menschen, - die Förderung des bürgerschaftlichen Engagements zugunsten gemeinnütziger, mildtätiger und kirchlicher Zwecke. (siehe Satzung der Johannes-Diakonie, Stand August 2022) Zu diesem Zweck werden insbesondere ambulante, teilstationäre und stationäre Einrichtungen und Dienste zum Wohnen und Arbeiten, zur Bildung und Ausbildung, zur Hilfe, Betreuung und Pflege, zur Förderung und Beratung, zur Pflege sowie zur Eingliederung, Behandlung und Therapie errichtet, ausgebaut und unterhalten. Die Johannes-Diakonie Mosbach beschäftigt derzeit rund 3.200 Mitarbeiterinnen und Mitarbeiter.

Emphasizing individual needs and social participation, our approach ensures close-knit support in daily life, covering all aspects of well-being. You will join our day-care team offering activities and excursions for residents. You'll play a vital role in this impactful mission using your skills and interests to help the residents - for example, music, crafts, cooking or relaxation activities. About the accomodation

A fully furnished apartment is provided locally and fully paid by Johannes Diakonie. Full board (345€) and the volunteer allowance (210€) is paid monthly direct to your German bank account. A ticket for local and national transport (Deutschlandticket) is also paid by Johannes Diakonie. Mosbach (https://mosbach.de/startseite) is a small town on the edge of the Odenwald region and close to Frankfurt, Stuttgart and Heidelberg for travelling through Germany and Europe. The town has many old buildings and often holds events in the summer months, as well as lots of outdoor activities.

About the leisure activities

Arrival and mid-term training through the National Agency. On-the-job training at the location. Events arranged for all volunteers by Johannes Diakonie, including regular online meetings with the coordinator. Free German language courses provided during the year. Youthpass at the end of the volunteer period
