Sorgun Youth Organization was established to carry out activities on soscial, education, health and sports fields, to contribute to improving youth poicies, to enable solidarity and help among young people, to encourage their spirit of entrepreneurship, to help them gain knowledge and skills on such topics, to contribute to the disadvantaged young people like those who are disabled to be integrated into society. Our organization which discovers the fact that the young people are the most important individuals and which aims to bring together the young people with different skills and create a great synergy and aims to enable young people to be involved in the society and enable the society to benefit from the young people more was established with the name “Sorgun Youth Organization” in the district Sorgun in 2014 Before our organization became a legal institute, it started with an informal group which was initiated with a few young people and managed to Access many young people in a very short time. Our organization which in time becomes a great asset by bringing together volunteers working for a divine purpose and involving many young people from different age groups, expands its impact and tries to increase the number of projects in which it is involved as partners actively.
Volunteering Period: 30 Days (26/08/2026 - 24/09/2026) ▶️ Study Subject: Disasters ▶️ Place of Volunteering: Sorgun, Yozgat, Turkey The "You Future" project is an ESC team volunteering project supported by the European Commission. In each team, 10 young volunteers will participate in a 30-day volunteering program, receiving training on key topics such as disaster preparedness, climate change, post-disaster recovery, and community resilience. These trainings will be supported by various workshops, seminars, field visits, and group activities, fostering cooperation among volunteers. Volunteers will organize training sessions, events, and campaigns for local children, young people, and adults, sharing the knowledge they have gained with the community. These activities aim to raise public awareness, create a more disaster-prepared society, and strengthen intercultural dialogue. INFOPACK: bit.ly/4mHc2M
Volunteers will share an apartment in Sorgun with double rooms, bathrooms, and a shared kitchen. Accommodation will be provided by the SORGED coordination organization. You will live together with other ESC volunteers, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment throughout the project. The apartment will be equipped with kitchen utensils and internet access, allowing volunteers to meet their daily needs conveniently. As part of the project, volunteers will receive: €6 per day as pocket money €6 per day as a food allowance Additionally, travel costs will be reimbursed based on the travel
Volunteers will participate in training on disaster preparedness, first aid, climate change, community resilience, mountaineering, search and rescue, and missing person search. Learning will be supported through workshops, seminars, field visits, simulations, and practical exercises. Volunteers will organize educational sessions, awareness campaigns, and interactive activities for local children, young people, and adults, sharing the knowledge and skills they have gained while promoting preparedness, safety, and active citizenship.
