Luxembourg: ESC: Communication Assistant for Transition Minett asbl

Presentation of the programme

Transition Minett is a non-profit organisation based in Esch-sur-Alzette, Luxembourg, working to accelerate the ecological and social transition through citizen-led initiatives. We believe that everyone can contribute to building a more sustainable, resilient and inclusive society. Together with citizens and local partners, we develop participatory projects that encourage people to take action, share skills and strengthen their community. We manage several community spaces, including La MESA – House of Transition, dedicated to sustainable food, repair, sharing and community life; Facilitec, a circular economy hub with shared workshops, repair activities and creative spaces; and a network of urban gardens where citizens learn about gardening, biodiversity and local food production. We are looking for a European volunteer to support our communication activities, help create engaging content for various communication channels.

About the accomodation

The volunteer will be accommodated in a shared house with a private bedroom, in Audun-le-Tiche, just across the French border, only a few minutes from Esch-sur-Alzette, Luxembourg. Lunch is usually shared with the team, with everyone bringing their own meal, creating a friendly and informal atmosphere. Also we provide discount prices at MESA restaurant. The association can provide a bicycle. In addition, all public transport in Luxembourg is free, allowing volunteers to move around the country easily.

About the leisure activities

The volunteer will work closely with and under the supervision of the Communication Manager, involved in a wide range of communication activities, including graphic design, website management, content creation, communication strategies for a sustainability-focused NGO, event promotion and the use of various digital communication tools and platforms. Training will be provided. Beyond the office, the volunteer will become part of Transition Minett's vibrant community, being encouraged to take part in our zero-waste, repair, gardening and sustainable food workshops or other events.

Requirements

The Participant profile: A good level of French is required, as it is the main working language within the organisation. Interested in communication, with some experience in one or more of the following areas: social media management, website editing, blog writing, photography, video production and editing, or graphic design. Interested in environmental and climate issues, or is eager to learn more about ecological transition and sustainable lifestyles. Enjoys working as part of a team, while also being proactive and able to work independently once familiar with their tasks.
