The European Volunteer will support the Director and Project Coordinator in the daily coordination and and the two permanent staff members implementation of JRS Luxembourg’s social inclusion programmes. This includes assisting with the Deng Plaz project, dedicated to recently arrived young migrants aged 13 to 17, providing french lessons, orientation, individual support, and access to social, educational and community activities. The EV will also contribute to the Solidarity French Courses open to all JRS beneficiaries and the Ubuntu Project, which provides a safe and supportive space for migrants and asylum seekers through psychosocial support and recretional activities . The EV will help welcome beneficiaries and volunteers, organise activities, support registrations, prepare materials, coordinate logistics, assist with administrative follow-up, and contribute to the smooth running of all projets.

The team consists of five employees: the Director and Project Coordinator, two Project Managers, and two French language teachers. They are supported by 35 volunteers involved across the different projects, and the Board of Directors that plays an active role. EV is also supported by a tutor, and we offer also regular training sessions on refugee issues.EV will be weekly supervised to see how tasks are progressing and how the EV is feeling. EV can express their difficulties whenever they wish. We also encourage volunteers to carry out a personal project within the associati.on

The Participant profile: We are looking for someone who speaks French (B2 level) and be able to speak english (B1), is motivated, open-minded , empathic, and wants to help and get involved in the refugee cause. Ideally, we would like the volunteer to have experience of organising activities and giving French courses and should be able to work autonomously in carrying out their assigned tasks.
