Alpe Adria Green (AAG) is an international association for the protection of the environment and nature: - with status in the public interest in the field of environmental and nature protection, - with the status of a voluntary organization and - with the status of a young volunteer-friendly organization. AAG has over 350 members, of which over 50 activists participate as volunteers in individual activities. AAG, in addition to its independent operation, is connected to joint networks with societies from Italy and SE Europe. The mission of the AAG is focused on solving ecological problems in a broadly defined context. AAG has three main areas of activity: 1. International Environmental Center AAG, which is in charge of - monitoring regulations and various procedures and co-decision making and participation in these procedures and processes - free legal assistance, advice and representation in the field of environmental protection for all who show an interest, regardless of their status (individuals, civil initiatives, authorities...) and - all other environmental legal matters, with which control over the operation of authorities and strengthening of democracy is carried out. 2. Educational - awareness-raising programs (through project activities, we raise awareness and educate various target groups, and the greatest emphasis is intended for school-going population). 3. Eco-patrols; a field work- taking samples, sending for analysis, reporting to the relevant authorities...

A Volunteer Nature Ranger helps protect nature and the environment in Triglav National Park (TNP) by supporting park staff through observation, awareness-raising, and practical conservation work. The role does not involve official enforcement. Main activities: monitoring plants, animals, and habitats; reporting pollution, poaching, damaged infrastructure, and other environmental issues; raising visitors' awareness of nature conservation; maintaining hiking trails, restoring dry stone walls, cleaning natural areas, and other fieldwork, mapping invasive alien plant species and assisting with their removal; cooperating with TNP staff in conservation activities etc. Activities will depend on weather conditions and the needs of TNP in that specific moment. Under favourable weather conditions, most activities will take place in the field. In the event of bad weather, activities will be adapted and carried out indoors, focusing mainly on training and educational sessions.

Volunteers will be accommodated in fully equipped apartments in Bled. Each apartment will host 2 or 3 volunteers. In total, 10 volunteers will participate in this activity. Volunteers will have access to a kitchen and will be able to prepare their own meals. Each apartment has its own kitchen. The ESC Programme reimburses volunteers’ travel expenses in accordance with the Programme rules. Volunteers will also receive a daily allowance (pocket money) and a food allowance, as provided by the ESC Programme rules.

We will have a short informal training for volunteers so that they can successfully perform the tasks of a TNP ranger. We will also have a career day, where we will conduct short training on the topic of job searching, writing a resume, identifying your own competencies, etc.

The Participant profile: We expect the volunteer to be physically prepared: - ability to walk on rugged terrain, in different weather conditions, - readiness for several hours of outdoor activities (patrols, observations, cleaning, etc.). Responsibility and independence: - respect for nature, regulations and entrusted roles, - ability to work independently or cooperate in a pair/group. Interest in nature and environmental protection: - joy for nature conservation topics, basic understanding of ecosystems, animal and plant species, - Readiness to learn (e.g., recognizing species, rules of conduct in the park). Communication skills: - Friendly communication with visitors, ability to convey information and raise awareness. Organization and cooperation - participation in planning activities (division of tasks, recording observations, reporting), - active role in implementing a mini-project. In the event of extremely inclement weather, the volunteer is expected to be flexible, which means that certain activities will be carried out while sitting at computers.Deadline: 10/09/2026 15:00
