Alpe Adria Green (AAG) is an international association for the protection of the environment and nature: - with status in the public interest in the field of environmental and nature protection, - with the status of a voluntary organization and - with the status of a young volunteer-friendly organization. AAG has over 350 members, of which over 50 activists participate as volunteers in individual activities. AAG, in addition to its independent operation, is connected to joint networks with societies from Italy and SE Europe. The mission of the AAG is focused on solving ecological problems in a broadly defined context. AAG has three main areas of activity: 1. International Environmental Center AAG, which is in charge of - monitoring regulations and various procedures and co-decision making and participation in these procedures and processes - free legal assistance, advice and representation in the field of environmental protection for all who show an interest, regardless of their status (individuals, civil initiatives, authorities...) and - all other environmental legal matters, with which control over the operation of authorities and strengthening of democracy is carried out. 2. Educational - awareness-raising programs (through project activities, we raise awareness and educate various target groups, and the greatest emphasis is intended for school-going population). 3. Eco-patrols; a field work- taking samples, sending for analysis,reporting to the relevant authorities...
Volunteers will receive training on nature conservation topics, including invasive alien species in Triglav National Park (TNP) and the use of the Invazivke online platform. They will participate in various conservation activities according to the needs of TNP, which may include field observations, biodiversity monitoring, habitat maintenance, invasive species management, trail maintenance, restoration activities, and other practical actions supporting nature protection. Activities will be carried out in cooperation with TNP, local authorities, and relevant institutions, following necessary guidelines and permits. Volunteers will also support awareness-raising activities, document field observations, and contribute to the preparation of educational materials promoting nature conservation.
Volunteers will be accommodated in fully equipped apartments in Bohinj. Each apartment will host 2 or 3 volunteers. In total, 10 volunteers will participate in this activity. Volunteers will have access to a kitchen and will be able to prepare their own meals. Each apartment has its own kitchen. The ESC Programme reimburses volunteers’ travel expenses in accordance with the Programme rules. Volunteers will also receive a daily allowance (pocket money) and a food allowance, as provided by the ESC Programme rules.
We will have a short informal training for volunteers so that they can successfully perform the tasks of a TNP ranger. We will also have a career day, where we will conduct short training on the topic of job searching, writing a resume, identifying your own competencies, etc.
The Participant profile: We expect the volunteer to be physically prepared: - ability to walk on rugged terrain, in different weather conditions, - readiness for several hours of outdoor activities (patrols, observations, cleaning, etc.). Responsibility and independence: - respect for nature, regulations and entrusted roles, - ability to work independently or cooperate in a pair/group. Interest in nature and environmental protection: - joy for nature conservation topics, basic understanding of ecosystems, animal and plant species, - Readiness to learn (e.g., recognizing species, rules of conduct in the park). Communication skills: - Friendly communication. Organization and cooperation - participation in planning activities (division of tasks, recording observations, reporting), - active role in implementing a mini-project. In the event of extremely inclement weather, the volunteer is expected to be flexible, which means that certain activities will be carried out while sitting at computers .Deadline: 28/08/2026 15:00
