About the local hosting organization

A youth organization from Latvia, which carries out comprehensive development of young people using non-formal education methods.Promote favorable conditions for the intellectual and creative development of young people, promoting the full development of their personality, helping them integrate into society and promoting their initiative and participation in the decision-making process;Popularize a healthy lifestyle and sports among children, young people and other Latvian residents, improve their moral, spiritual and physical growth;To provide humanitarian and physical assistance to families, people with functional disabilities and lonely pensioners by organizing various charity events;Organize seminars, trainings, individual member consultations, camps and other practical and theoretical classes for various target groups, including using non-formal education methods - voluntary work;To develop full-fledged and youth-appropriate social services in Latvia.We are voting members of the Latvian Youth Council, as well as represented in the decision-making body of this organization - the board, to which we delegated our member Elīza Elizabete Loja.Included in the list of youth organizations of the Ministry of Education and Science from 06.12.2021, decision no. 9-1.3/21/7.Representing the interests of children and young people, we are represented on the board of the "Bauska district rural partnership" society.Granted the status of public benefit organization from 11.03.2020, decision no. 30.6-8.71/36288, in the field of activity development of civil society.We are full members of the Latvian Platform for Development Cooperation (LAPAS), which is a national platform for development cooperation.

Presentation of the programme

Join our team as a volunteer and contribute directly to youth development and community engagement in Latvia! In this role, you will collaborate closely with local youth centers in Riga and Bauska. Your core responsibilities will include assisting in the daily operation and maintenance of the centers, as well as developing and facilitating engaging activities and initiatives for local youth. A key priority of the project is promoting social inclusion and supporting young people with fewer opportunities. Additionally, you will participate in visits to schools across Latvia, helping to organize and lead interactive educational workshops. About the accomodation

Participants will stay in fully equipped shared apartments in Riga and Bauska. The living spaces include everything needed for a comfortable stay - a complete kitchen, modern bathroom, washing machine, and fast Wi-Fi. Since all standard kitchen tools and appliances are provided, participants can easily prepare their own meals using a provided food allowance. All local and intercity transport is fully covered. Participants will receive public transport passes for Riga, while travel between Riga and Bauska will be handled via regular intercity buses or arranged transport.

About the leisure activities

The team will introduce participants to non-formal education and show them how these activities are run in practice. Participants will learn how to work with young people, lead activities, and handle group work step by step. Throughout the project, the team will be there to help with any questions, ideas, or challenges that come up. Regular support and guidance will be provided so every volunteer feels safe, confident, and ready for their tasks.

Requirements

The Participant profile: This project is open to anyone aged 18 to 30 who is interested in working with young people and leading activities. Participants can also get involved in social media management and other tasks essential for youth work.
