Presentation of the programme

At the ijgd national office, we work together with the teams of the regional associations to organise international workcamps in Germany and create opportunities for young people to take part in workcamps outside Germany. Our workcamps in both Germany and over 50 other countries give young people the chance to live and work with people from all over the globe, to support a project for two to four weeks. You would mainly work in our office and help to prepare, organise and evaluate the workcamp season. You will also be able to participate in workcamps and trainings and lead your own international workcamp in Germany. Every year we organise between 50 and 60 work camps in Germany. Our target group is young people between the ages of 14 and 26.

About the accomodation

We want to use the workcamps to promote civic engagement among young people and to support charitable projects in the local community. 

About the leisure activities

Accomodation: you will stay in a shared house in Hildesheim or Hanover, where you will have access to internet, a shared bathroom and kitchen. You will have your own room.Food: you will receive the official amount for food (345 €) per month and also a monthly pocket money (210€).Transport arrangements: we will provide you with a bike and a monthly public transport pass, if necessary.
