Mozambique: Obra Dom Orione

About the local hosting organization

The main propose of the project is to provide a Centre for disabled children with rehabilitation needs. It is run by the Catholic Church. The centre hosts children with various disabilities. A lot of them just appear one day, without anything being known about their past and their family circumstances. In the centre they are given a home and care with the rehabilitation offering them possibilities to work. The main activity of this project is to create a place for the children to feel at home and to feel to be wanted, having someone to take care of them und help them with all the things they need. Older children can – if their disability allows – go to public schools or to university.
