Nepal Volunteers and Cultural Youth Exchange Program (NVCYE Program) is a non-profit organization registered with the social welfare Council of Nepal government. It was established in 2004 with the aim of empowering local communities to implement and organize community development, education, and conservation projects. NVCYE offers year-round Nepal volunteer program around Teaching, Orphanage, Organic Farming, Women's Empowerment, Conservation, Nun & Monk Teaching, Plantation, and Health. Though our central office is situated in Kathmandu, our work is presently scattered throughout 6 out of 75 districts in Nepal.We offer established projects and experienced host family with international volunteers.

By joining NVCYE's Women's Empowerment program, you will experience once-in-a-lifetime you will get a chance to improve through communication with the local team and by making new friends from all around the world.NVCYE will organize regular Women's Empowerment Program for a minimum of eight participants on wide range of issues and purposes for a period of 15 days (the duration can be extended upon request from the organization sending the volunteers). The program is organized throughout the year with special focus on cultural exchange and teaching. Orientation and welcome dinner!Day 02: Drive to the project.Day 03: Work with family and engage in the work of the women's community.Day 04: Family Agriculture work and engage in work of the women community. Day 05: Family Agriculture activity and engage in work of women community. Day 06: Engage in work of women community.Day 07: Teaching English and Engage in work of women community.Day 08: Engage in work with community Women. Day 09: Engage in work of women community. Day 10: Engage in work of women community.Day 11: Engage in work of women community.Day 12: Teaching English and Engage in work of women community.Day 13: farewell from Project.Nature of Work:• Teaching English Languages to adult women.• Income generative skills training• Women's health and maternity education• Work with women in their farm, House• Participate in and initiate awareness raising activities in various issues• Teach and promote women's rights• Discuss women's health issues• Help explore possible market for women's products• You can teach skills, new ideas and interests and the needs of the local community.• collaborate with in ongoing projects or help with small businessesNote: Here Group can bring material to teach something new to group of women's community. Small fund to make the program effective to such as support them to have income generate skills is needed to have effective result.Income generating skills by using local Material is main task. For Example; Giving training in tailoring, design basic cloth making skills, skills of making incense, method to make effective Agriculture practice and so on.

Accommodation: With local host families.Rules for Volunteers in Host Family — Some of the rules are designed to protect you and other participants:• No smoking and not drinking alcohol in inside the accommodations & Project.• Drugs are strictly forbidden. Consumption or possession of drugs will be reported to authorities, and you will be immediately removed from the program.• Dress appropriately, modestly and conduct yourself professionally.• Avoid any dating or romantic activities in the host family. Local customs are very sensitive, and you must be aware of the consequences of your actions.• Overnight guests are NOT permitted in host family accommodations.• Please inform in advance to your family member if you are not coming back for a night.• Please do not use facilities of the host family (TV, radio, VCR, bike etc) without permission.• Always keep your door closed when you go out and make sure your belonging is safely kept.• Please wash your clothes and dishes yourself.• We expect all our participants to be present and punctual.Note - Breaking any of the rules is grounds for removal from the program without a refund

Note: A basic type of Nepalese food is provided. Volunteers should not expect luxurious accommodations in Nepal.Most Nepali people are Hindu; cows are worshiped as goodness so please do not ask for beef.Please avoid eating food from unknown sources.

The program is especially designed for high school students and new university students who are enthusiastic about traveling and volunteer work. Project site falls at Kathmandu, Chitwan, Pokhara, and remote areas.Location: - - Chitwan/Parsa/Kavrepalanchock villages far from KathmanduDistance to the project: 5-20 minutes walking.

At the same time, you might take up admirable interests like hiking, travelling, and photography, and develop a passion for humanitarian works and working in nature conservation by participating in this program.Day 14: Free day.Day 15: Return to home or Travel on your own.

Age of the participants: Minimum 18How to Prepare:❖ Make sure your passport is up to date. To enter Nepal, your passport must be valid for at least 6 months after your program start date.❖ Vaccination: Hepatitis A; Typhoid; Meningitis; Tetanus; Polio; Mumps; Measles; Japanese Encephalitis; Hepatitis B and Rabies. (Recommended). Please make sure that you have received the required and mandatory vaccinations. For more information, please click on this link.❖ Money Exchange: The currency of Nepal is Rupees (Rs). USD and Euro are widely accepted; however, the exchange rate is based on local trend approximately near to government rule. It's a good idea to exchange money from the bank. You must have your original passport with you to exchange money. There are ATMs all around Nepal, mostly in Kathmandu valley capital city of Nepal.
