About the local hosting organization
In the beginning of the year 2001
spiritual father Andrejs Mediņš decided to use the ruined castle near
Bauska offered by the need for any successful rehabilitation to take a
place within a stable environment. The project combines work, spiritual
life, and communal living. Father Mediņš has spent time in community
Cenacolo in Bosnia Herzegovina, which works with young people who
suffers from drug addiction. “The Mountain Blessings community” is based
on the Cenacolo community model. The local municipality, other
organizations and individuals are helping to run this project. At the
present “The Mountain Blessings community” exists for 12 years.
This year NGO "The Mountain's Blessings Community" acts as our partner in the organization of a workcamp. The work of this community is aimed at youngsters who suffer from different addictions and seek for their place in the world. In 2016 our partner bought the building of the former Barbele school to open there a multifunctional education centre.
