About the local hosting organizationEnvironment Engineering Group organises this workcamp for the sixth time in the Jazak village on the Fruska Gora Mountain with the goal to support the development of a local NGO named Centre for rural development and applied learning in Jazak, as well as to help promote the village Jazak through innovative ideas of the international volunteers. We believe international workcamp volunteers could motivate the local community, especially young people, to get involved in the social life of the village, giving their contribution to its development.
About the volunteer workThe volunteers will help with connecting small and undeveloped village Jazak with touristicly more advanced Vrdnik spa. They will build a new walking and cycling path (removing bushes and branches, tracing a new path through the forest) and help promote it as a new tourist activity. In addition to the construction of the mountain track, during the workcamp the volunteers will be renovating smaller public spaces in the village of Jazak and renovating premises of the Centre for rural development and applied learning.
Local accommodationIn the Centre there are 2 rooms with bathrooms, and there is one bungalow with bathroom as well. There is also a common room for free time activities and WiiFi. The volunteers will prepare meals on their own, with food provided, and with help of a local lady, eager to add new international recipes to her book but also share her specialities
