About the local hosting organizationThere will be three stages: 1. Online preparation in order to exchange knowledge & experience in the field of urbanistic, city planning and sustainable lifestyles. Material will be available. The existing online platform on Urban Space interacticity.net will be presented and discussed. 2. Berlin! The goal is to improve the platform, gain practical experience in the research field and strengthen the Urban Space community. The participants will visit projects related to the subject, have workshops on non-formal and creative education and attend expert talks. 3. Workshops The goals are peer exchange & education, spreading knowledge and project evaluation. The participants will do research in groups, do workshops in schools, etc. The results will be presented on the online platform
About the volunteer work1. Documentation of cases of inclusive and community oriented usage of space by conducting interviews, making videos, and photography. 2. Writing the articles for the website that structure different cases under one framework (e.g. post-industrial transformations, alternative housings, urban gardens in the modern cities) 3. Development of educational materials for Urban Toolkit such as games, infographics, videos. 4. Conduction of workshops in schools. The articles and Urban Toolkit materials will be posted on the website, various groups on Facebook, and sent via personal channels to educational professionals and urbanists.

RequirementsThe project is only for volunteers from Germany, Russia or Ukraine.
Extra info about the projectTeaching social inclusion, diversity, ecological responsibility and sustainability in schools by presenting examples of alternative Urban Space usage in their home town and abroad, thus empowering the youth to take responsibility for their city. The youth should be perceived not as a passive but as an active actor that shapes the outlook, character and life of a city. The workshops will also enable gathering insights on how young people perceive topics such as city development, urbanization and consequences of globalization and gentrification. This camp is open only for participant coming from Ukraine, Russia and Germany.
