About the local hosting organization
The San Luis estate is a center of Environmental Education with a strategic location, in the “Mundo Maya Tourist Corridor”, adjacent to some Archaeological areas. Yucatan has lost 80% of the original vegetation cover and associated fauna and flora in the last decades.
Given this context, this project is created to be a space to address the problem of ecological deterioration based on comprehensive educational programs with emphasis on science, technology and productivity, forging a lifestyle in which a rationality prevail on the one hand, an environmental orientation guided by ethical and moral principles and, on the other hand, a social rationality that makes possible the satisfaction of the present human needs with attachment to the sustainable management of the natural resources.
