About the volunteer workThe Glashaus Saarschleife organisation has bought an old house from the 18th century, in order to renovate it into an international exchange space for artists and creators. The first workcamp here took place in 2015 and was a great experience for all involved. For this reason there will be another camp in 2017. This year you will be learning old craft techniques. You will also be replicating a historic archway. During the whole camp you will be working and living with other young people.
Local accommodationYou will be staying in the town house. Meals will be prepared and cooked in small groups.
About the project locationYou will be working and living in the Dreisbach district. In Mettlach (around 7km away) there is an outdoor swimming pool, where you can cool off on warm days. You can take a boat trip along the river Saar. You can also visit the historical town of Trier. Besides this, you can go on a day trip to France or to Luxembourg. There are only limited bus connections from your accommodation, but your project partners will support you with transport.
RequirementsReadiness to work together with refugees who also live and work on site is necessary in order to take part in this project.
