About the local hosting organizationThe project is organised in cooperation with the charity foundation for helping elderly people Old age is a joy and a retirement house in Ryazan region in Avdotinka village (300 km from Moscow). Charitable Foundation Old age is a joy grew from volunteer movement, whose main task was to improve the lives of older people in nursing homes and the reduction of emotional vacuum in which the elderly people find themselves. They believe that all older people, regardless of their profession and marital status, deserve a decent life in old age.Photos from this retirement house - https://vk.com/di_shilovo

About the volunteer workMinor repairs in the rooms of residents. Many of them haven t left their rooms for ages, and that is why the interior is very important for them. Volunteers should be interested in spending time with the residents, taking them for a walk, listening to their stories, talking to them because grannies and grandpas do not get much of attention and miss the sympathy and interest of other people.

Local accommodationVolunteers live in tents near the retirement house. Volunteers cook breakfast and dinner themselves, have lunch in canteen.

About the project locationAvdotinka village is located 300 km from Moscow. Meeting point is in Moscow. On weekends and free time swimming in peat lakes, hiking in the forest, excursions to protected areas of Ryazan region.
