About the local hosting organizationThe Brandenburg Youth Centre is a development facility for young people that have difficult social backgrounds and show inadequate social behaviours. Located in the province of the former Prussian domain of Berge, Northwest of Berlin, the youth centre offers these young people the opportunity to reintegrate on social and vocational levels through development programmes on issues including ecology, agriculture, construction and kitchen work and a wood workshop. The young people live in family-like structures with educators as parents.

About the volunteer workIn small groups in the stables, kitchen work, wood work and harvesting, together with the young people from the project.

Local accommodationProbably in tents, maybe in rooms.Meals are provided by the youth centre or by self-catering.

About the project locationBerge is located close to Berlin, the capital of Germany. There are a lot of free-time activities in and around the city. Berlin is definitely worth a visit considering its important function during the Second World War and during the time of the Berlin wall.

RequirementsKnowledge of German is useful! Interest to contact with the youth! Interest in physical work!

Extra info about the projectAlcohol and drugs are forbidden in the project! Many free time facilities: swimming, canoeing, horseback riding, tours by bike, excursions to Berlin and Potsdam are possible. Further information please find [here](http://www.jugendhof-brandenburg.de/)
