About the volunteer workThere will be activities supporting the organization of the race Xtrail 2017 “Route of Gold and Silver” as well as after the race with the objective to host a magnificent event, which will impulse sports tourism, adventure tourism as well as nature tourism. There will also be social activities in the community. 1. The race Xtrail will be promoted by distributing flyers and by placing posters in public squares, parks and schools to announce the event. Moreover, schools and/or universities will be visited to have an impact on the local youth and to promote sports, a healthy lifestyle and volunteering. 2. The location where the race will take place will be cleaned to ensure its conservation. Other eco-touristic areas and communities will also be cleaned, e.g. by picking up garbage etc. 3. More activities are related to giving the kits to the participants of the race, the day of pre-registering, as well as the day of the race itself. The volunteers will also help in the areas of hydration and with handing over the medals to the participants. 4. The tourist board wishes for the volunteers to be part of different projects of cultural exchange, such as; -Visit of home for the elderly “Santa Ana y San Joaquín” -Meetings with local students. -Demonstrations of handicrafts or local cuisine of their specific home countries. -Sport activities like the “Cyclist route” -Organization of an intercultural fair in the city center. -Involvement with print media, radio and photographic activities.
