About the local hosting organizationGeneral Aims: • Improve the conditions for cultural and ethnographic activities in Talasnal village • Ensure the safety conditions of the walkers that walk in the rails of the Lousã mountain range • Promote intercultural relations between the young participants and the local community • Promoting exchange among young people from different countries of the world • Valuing young people as citizens committed to the world they live in • Make the region known to the participants • Make known the work done in the community
About the volunteer workTasks • Clean the Talasnal water and water mill • To clean the pedestrian routes In the route of the mills and Route of the villages of the shanty of Lousã (that connect Lousã to the Talasnal) • Build communal kiln in Talasnal village primary school • Build wooden furniture (benches and tables) to support Talasnal school • Support the construction of the support structure to the community oven The participants will work 6 hours per day in paths of mountain and to support the to built a community oven in village of Talasnal. In Leisure time, the group will have the opportunity to know Coimbra and the old University, the river beachs in Lousã and at the evenings participate in some cultural activities with the local community
Local accommodationThe participants will be lodged in a house with good access to the town of Lousã. Lunches on working days will be made at the farm where they are working and the remaining meals will be in the house where they will be lodged. The participants will have access to the internet in the facilities of the promoter entity and in several public places of the town where this service already exists.
About the project locationLousã is a town located 30 km from the city of Coimbra
Requirements• Do not use drugs • Do not consume alcohol during activities and especially in the presence of children and young people • Be motivated to participate in all activities in the work camp (painting, restoring, house cleaning, cooking, presenting your country)
