Presentation of the programmeThis volunteer project gives you the opportunity to get to know the Hunsrück region intensively and to actively support nature and local communities here. The Hunsrück is a low mountain range dominated by large forests and unique nature. Only small villages are scattered in the forests. The first three weeks will focus on nature conservation. Together with 10 other international volunteers of a work camp, you will support various activities for the protection of biodiversity in the Hunsrück National Park. Specifically, this will involve the preservation of wetlands, the support of a wild animal park and other nature conservation measures. In the second part, the focus is on the people. The local population of the two villages of Züsch and Neuhütten have gathered what concrete projects would make their lives more exciting. These will be implemented together with you, local and other international volunteers. Concrete tasks will be: 1. design of a multigenerational park with facilities for all age groups (smelling and snack garden, boules court, seating areas and a space for sports and games). 2. build a stream learning path: An adventure and educational path should offer challenges to children, young people and adults in the middle of the stream and convey the importance of the water habitat. 3. build a staircase from the lake to a lookout point. 4. improve and beautify the schoolyard in Züsch.
