информация о местного партнераHiiumaa, according to the Nordic sagas, emerged from the Baltic Sea as a small islet more than 10 000 years ago. The island of Hiiumaa was first mentioned in historical documents as a deserted island called Dageida in 1228. The first inhabitants settled down at the end of the 13th century. Nowadays, Hiiumaa is the second largest island of Estonia with the area of 965 sq. km and a population of around 9 000. It has many historical and nature sights, and there are kind people known for their hospitality and good sense of humor. The island is referred to as a remote area of Europe, and EstYES feels proud developing international voluntary projects for over 20 years there. EstYES has been cooperating with eco-farms all over Estonia to show solidarity and give practical support to local people, who work in the agricultural sector keeping traditional lifestyle and developing new eco-farming despite all difficulties. Alliksaare Farm on Hiiumaa Island is one of such projects. This is a farm promoting sustainable lifestyle, and this camp is offered to volunteers who share its values, want to learn more about it and to help hard working people. Current speciality of Alliksaare Farm is preserving endangered breed of horses called Estonian Native Horse. Another work is cleaning the coast nearby the farm from rubbish brought by storms. There can be some work for preparing food for horses for a winter time. However, the major and the most important one is work with horses directly - mostly training them. There are horses of any age but mostly young ones, so depending on your experience and willingness to learn more, it is possible to practice taking care of and training young horses. For example socializing and training foals, halter train yearlings and saddle and/or carriage train young horses. The work will be mainly outdoors. Working time is 6-7 hours a day. Work will be done mostly independently, still some supervision and initial guidance will be provided by the local host.

информация о местного партнераThe Grayhill project is based in a recreated medieval village near Chepstow in Monmouthsire. The village has been in the process of being restored and rebuilt by the host project (Grayhill Conservation and Interpretation Group) since the mid-1980s. Renovation of the entire 15.5 acre site to its late 16th early 17th century condition began in 1987. There are 30 fields in the 15 acres which have been returned to their historical land uses, hay meadows, pasture, woodland, arable, gardens and orchards.

информация о работе волонтераThe camp covers three weeks and involves in the first two weeks the restoration of an early 17th century agricultural landscape as an educational resource. This year the main tasks will be completing the construction of a wood store and repairing gates (mostly carpentry work) plus preparation work for the Living History event such as path clearance. In the third and last week the site will be holding its annual Living History display for schools. Around 40 volunteer experts in period costume will demonstrate life in the English countryside in 1599. A variety of skills from dyeing to cooking, haymaking to charcoal burning will be shown. Volunteers taking part in this week will be supplied with period costumes and work with a small group of English experts at one of the activities.

жилище на местеFacilities are very basic – there are no showers on site, you will be living in tents, and cooking will be done over open fires. Composting toilets are on site. Visits will be organised to the local swimming pool where there is a shower option. There is no piped water or modern facilities on the site and hot water is limited.

информация о месте проектаLOCATION: The camp is located 5 miles from Chepstow (Monmouthshire) in Wales. LEISURE: Swimming trips will be organised, and volunteers can play bowls in the garden.

информация о местного партнераThis project is actively working for SDG 2 (Zero Hunger) and SDGs 10 (Reduced Inequalities), organized together with Kyodo Gakusha (since 2000 here), a cooperative community where people with various backgrounds such as mentally disadvantaged, people who are tired of city life, who want to learn farming, who want to live in the nature, etc. They have 5 communities in Japan incl. Maki and grow animals and vegetables in an ecological, organic way. Maki is located in a very isolated area (not accessible for cars and we have to walk 4 km in the mountains!), so it once became an abandon village in 1970s and then, was revived by Kyodo Gakusha. 【About this Journey】 Today, walking along the Yenping Historical Street, you can see 142 decorated historical houses in total. Most of them were built more than 90 years ago. A century ago, Yenping Street was the “downtown” with prosperity, but nowadays, as business gradually declined, the residents moved away from Xiluo and Yenping Street have become quieter. As a result, many houses have started to decay. Because of the "Community Renaissance" movement conducted by Luoyoung Foundation and local government, the street becomes prosperous again! In the past 9 years, we have invited many cultural groups and artists to visit and stay in Xiluo, and host different performances. At the same time, we are committed to promoting the art of sculpture and reserve more than 40 pieces of public art for Xiluo. They are arranged at the head of the Grand Xiluo Bridge and the Sculpture Park. We also hosted 11 international work camps focusing on renovating heritage houses. However, there are many sculptures that need to be refurbished, painted, maintained, and guaranteed. We hope to promote the transformation of Xiluo Bridge into a sculpture art gallery to prevent the sculptures from being worn out. Now, we have also established community colleges to help residents better understand local culture and keep up with international standards.Welcome to make friends with students from community colleges, Artistic creation ,teach English in elementary school, high school, or Yunlin Community College in Xiluo, and experienced traditional Taiwanese culture. информация о местного партнераWorldwide Friends (WF) is a non-profit organization founded in 2001 with the mission to promote nature conservation, intercultural understanding, and peace through volunteer activities in Iceland. In 2026, our focus will be on climate action, community resilience, and sustainable lifestyles — empowering participants to take meaningful action in their daily lives and local communities. WF organizes a variety of programs, including international projects, seminars and work with the local community. Open to both young people and adults who wish to make a positive impact while experiencing Iceland's unique culture and natural beauty.

информация о работе волонтераThis role combines driver, logistics support, and house caretaker responsibilities for international volunteer workcamps across Iceland. As a driver, your tasks include picking up and dropping off volunteers from the city center, airport, or camps, transporting participants to work sites and excursions, and supporting logistics such as grocery shopping for large groups. You may also assist in selecting suitable locations for environmental activities such as beach clean-ups. As a house caretaker, your responsibilities include basic repairs and maintenance when needed, or supervising volunteers performing these tasks. You will help coordinate cleaning teams, support household management, and ensure the houses remain organized and safe. Occasionally, you may assist with cooking when required. You will travel around Iceland, as the organization operates several volunteer houses located in different parts of the country. Flexibility is essential, as tasks and schedules may change depending on project needs. Work activities may also depend on weather conditions, so adaptability is important. As locals say, if you don't like the Icelandic weather, just wait five minutes—it might change. Working hours may vary depending on the workcamps and organizational needs. However, you will have two days off per week, allowing time to explore Iceland's unique landscapes. When required, you may also support the organization by leading camps, welcoming participants, and introducing volunteers to the program and project activities.

жилище на местеDuring the workcamps, leaders will stay in shared accommodation in a fully equipped house. Rooms are double or quadruple, and beds and bedding are provided. The house includes essential facilities such as a washing machine and Wi-Fi, ensuring a comfortable stay during the project. Food is provided for the duration of the camp. Participants share responsibility for cooking and cleaning, contributing to a cooperative living environment. The organization provides a balanced and healthy selection of food, including whole grains, seasonal fruits and vegetables, pantry staples, dairy products, and vegetarian and vegan options.

информация о месте проектаExcursions may include visits to some of Iceland's unique natural attractions, such as waterfalls, volcanic and geothermal areas, glaciers, lava fields, hot springs, rhyolite mountain ranges, steam vents, and even icebergs. The program also focuses strongly on intercultural learning and exchange. In the evenings, volunteers from different countries will have the opportunity to present their culture in an informal and creative way. This could include a presentation, games, music, theatre, or any other activity you would like to share. We encourage participants to bring photos, traditional food, music, or other items related to their culture to create enjoyable and informative cultural evenings. This program offers a unique opportunity to spend meaningful time in Iceland with international volunteers, sharing knowledge, exploring creativity, discussing environmental issues, and learning from different cultures. The areas around the houses are also excellent for hiking and exploring nature. Participants are asked to respect the environment by planning ahead, staying on marked trails, properly disposing of waste, and leaving natural areas as they were found. Wildlife should not be approached or fed, and climbing high or steep mountains without a professional guide is not recommended.

условия преэкта- Handyman skills (appliance installation, carpentry, basic plumbing, minor electrical wiring, maintenance, and renovation) DIY skills, motivation, and personal qualities are just as important. - A driving Licence is essential.
