A propos de l'organisation localeBackground: This project was Initiated since 2006 by cooperation with NOVIB IDO which concerned in the prevention of STI and HIV/AIDS in Tegalrejo and Sukosari the two prostitution areas in Semarang uptown. After this pilot project, this project turns to focus more on the education especially highlighting the mental side of the children in the prostitution. This is due to the lack of concern on this issue from all stakeholders in Tegalrejo prostitution area while IIWC found out that there is big chance for IIWC to address the children issue. Project: Tegalrejo project at moment is the follow up of workcamps that regularly organized between IIWC and NICE Japan by setting up a shelter. This shelter is used for children to learn their school subject and to gain soft skills such as handicraft, dance, singing, etc assisted by volunteers. This year we start to set up international group to support this project and make it better in the future. Aims: 1. To promote or introduce the shelter among the local youth or students nearby 2. To motivate the children about the importance of education 3. To organize activities for the children in prostitution area 4. To exchange culture between participants, local people, and local students

A propos de l'organisation localeEspecially on July 4th- Sept 25th, 2019, all volunteers are going to participate in the Green (Carbon Offset) Projects. Planting Mangrove and learn other aspects of Mangrove: social, economic, nature. Since 2018, this project has been dedicated to support the IVS Carbon Offset to Stop Climate Change campaign coordinated by NICE, NVDA and CCIVS. Mangrove for Java is a project targeting endangers villages or area located in coastal cities and regencies in Java Island. This project is a sustainable project organized by GREAT in cooperation with local fisher and farmer communities since 2015 to answering the needs of preserving the coastal side of Java Island. Java coastal area is one of the directed affected by global climate change among many of islands in the world. The project is preserving natural diversity and sea shore from the erosion because of significantly mangrove cutting in the 70’s-80s along with strong waves from the ocean. Aims: To support the local initiatives of local fisher and farmer communities in protecting the sea shore by planting and seedling mangroves.

Daily environmental work to reduce carbon emission (that impact needs to be measurable and proved!) such as planting trees, constructing bio fuel stations, etc. (Main activities) 2. Conducting Carbon offset (measure the reduction and report to the donors and the crowd funding sites) with the technical support of the SCC Coordinators and the hosting NGOs 3. Running the short term/ weekend workcamps as the project leaders/ coordinating staff 4. Organizing the Common Action such as World Tanabata Actions (measuring and reducing CO2 emission and doing external actions) in the short term workcamps, school visit, events, etc. 5. Making videos and cartoons to introduce the situation and activities of the hosting projects The rest of the year: 1. Informations supplémentaires sur le projetStudy theme: Mangrove and its ecosystem from the Mangrove Information Center – Pekalongan. Weather can be up to 40 degree Celsius with 80% humidity. Less hygiene condition of slum coastal area. Bring some ideas for environment education (especially about mangrove and how to take care of it) and Olympic games for environment education for small children aged from 6-12 and teenagers.

A propos du travail de volontaireThe project is answering the needs of preserving the coastal side of North Java Sea in Mangkang. This area is now in danger due to the abrasion of the sea, cutting mangrove by local factory and heavy force from the river flows. Volunteers will do several works including planting mangrove and other trees in seashore, garbage management discussion to local people and children, renovation of mangrove garden for environment education center, school visits and green campaign.

A propos du logement sur placeVolunteers will stay with host family, shared toilet and bathroom, sleeping bag are needed, and self-cooking (possibility host family will cook for volunteers).

Localisation du projetThe campsite is in the village where the local culture is still strong. People there are very nice and humble. During leisure time, volunteers can take a walk to several beautiful landscape or maybe have a nice talk in cafe nearby the camp site.

A propos de l'organisation locale

Sekolah Alama Indonesia (SAI) est le premier établissement de son genre en Indonésie. Fondé en 1998, l'établissement ne comptait que 8 élèves et 6 enseignants. SAI a apporté de nouveaux concepts d'éducation dans le pays qui permettent de développer les compétences uniques à chaque enfant qui ne sont alors pas conformés à une éducation standardisée. Comme son nom l'indique, Sekolah Alam Indonesia ou « Ecole de la Nature » base ses activités sur la nature. Ainsi, les enfants peuvent apprendre en découvrant la nature et leur environnement.

Les salles de classe sont assez uniques et différentes de celles des écoles ordinaires. En effet, elles ne possèdent pas de fenêtres, de portes ou encore de murs en béton, elles sont construites en bois et sont très aérées. L'école se fonde sur la communauté et les parents sont très impliqués dans le processus d'éducation car ils font partie du conseil administratif de l'établissement. La communauté étant musulmane, l'éducation se base notamment sur le Coran et les Hadiths. Par ailleurs, sa mission consiste à développer une génération future qui possède une identité noble et ce, à travers des expériences de la vie réelle au sein de la communauté. L'éducation repose sur les valeurs suivantes : intégrité, maturité, responsabilité, respect de la nature, humilité, etc. 

Des volontaires internationaux sont les bienvenus pour venir soutenir l'école et ses objectifs. 

A propos du travail de volontaire

Les volontaires viendront en aide dans l'organisation de cours d'anglais par le biais d'activités interactives et en utilisant des jeux, musiques, histoires afin d'inciter les enfants à parler en anglais et d'interagir avec son environnement. Les volontaires participeront aux activités suivantes : 

  • projet d'agriculture urbaine : hydroponie, aquaponie, cours de pêche. Une expérience dans l'agriculture est un atout ; 
  • jouer avec les enfants pendant les pauses pour les encourager à parler anglais ; 
  • soutenir la bibliothèque et aider les enfants à emprunter des livres ; 
  • organiser, éventuellement, des expériences en physique, chimie, mathématiques pour encourager les enfants à s'intéresser aux sciences ; 
  • participer à l'organisation de divers événements , etc. 

A propos du logement sur place

Les volontaires logeront dans une famille d'accueil dans laquelle la toilette et la salle de bain sont communes. Un lit de style simple est fourni, un sac de couchage et un matelas sont alors nécessaires. La famille offrira quotidiennement des repas simples. 

Localisation du projet

SAI Cipedak se trouve dans le district de Cipedak dans le sud de Jakarta, la capitale indonésienne. La ville est multiculturelle et pleine d'attractions. 

Exigences

Les volontaires (H/F) doivent être âgés de minimum 20 ans et doivent : 

  • pouvoir parler anglais couramment ; 
  • avoir un intérêt pour collaborer et interagir avec des enfants ; 
  • être très motivés et enthousiastes ; 
  • aimer les activités en plein air ; 
  • respecter les valeurs locales et la culture musulmane ; 
  • s'habiller avec des tenues longues qui couvrent les membres. Les débardeurs et shorts ne sont pas autorisés.

Bahtera Kasih est un orphelinat protestant géré par la Fondation Bahtera Kasih et est situé à Semarang, un petit village à majorité musulmane. Il y a environ 50 enfants et plus de 50% d'entre eux ont moins de 10 ans. L'orphelinat possède son propre jardin d'enfants appelé Garuda Jaya où tous les enfants étudient et le jardin d'enfants est également ouvert au public. 
Dès leur plus jeune âge, les enfants apprennent à s'occuper des autres et à être indépendants en nettoyant et en rangeant leur propre chambre et l'orphelinat (par exemple, plier les vêtements, laver les vêtements, balayer le sol, prendre une douche, etc.).

A propos du travail de volontaire

Tâches possibles des volontaires :
  • Aider dans les tâches ménagères ;
  • Organiser des activités éducatives pour les enfants ;
  • Promouvoir l'autonomie des enfants (leur apprendre à garder leurs locaux propres et rangés) ;
  • Animer des activités linguistiques ;
  • Jouer à des jeux éducatifs ;
  • Aider les enseignants à la maternelle.

A propos du logement sur place

Les volontaires seront hébergés à l'orphelinat et hommes/femmes dormiront dans des dortoirs séparés. Peu de lits disponibles. Il est demandé aux volontaires de ramener un sac de couchage et des draps de lit. La salle de bain est commune. Les volontaires se mettront d'accord sur des règles de vie en commun et des organiseront des équipes pour effectuer les tâches.

Exigences

  • Aimer être entouré d'enfants ;
  • Aider pour les tâches ménagères ;
  • être enthousiaste, indépendant et autonome.

Une expérience probante en éducation ou en animation, ainsi qu'un niveau de langue suffisant est exigé pour ce projet. Un entretien aura lieu pour s'assurer des aptitudes et des motivations du volontaire.

Les volontaires doivent être prêts à faire face à des conditions météorologiques extrêmes et aux moustiques. Les enfants sont très actifs et considèrent les fondateurs de l'association comme leurs parents, et les autres enfants comme leurs frères et sœurs.

Sayap Sehat Children Care est une association indépendante et religieuse située dans le village de Legokkalongan, au Pékalongan. Le centre pour enfant dispose de 714m2 de terrain et a prévu d'être transformé en jardin fruitier. Il y a déjà quelques fruits comme la mangue, le durian et le ramboutan, mais la plupart des terres ne sont toujours pas entretenues et l'association souhaite cultiver plus de fruits tropicaux et de plantes du pays. Le jardin fruitier est aussi une forme d'éducation pour les enfants appartenant au centre et ceux du quartier, le but étant de leur apprendre à cultiver leur propres cultures.

A propos du travail de volontaire

Tâches possibles du volontaire :

  • Cultiver des fruits et des plantes ;
  • Organiser des activités pour les enfants du Sayap Sehat Children Care ;
  • Entretenir le jardin biologique dans le but de fournir un revenu et de la nourriture pour les enfants du centre.

A propos du travail de volontaireBRIEF DESCRIPTION AND MAIN AIMS : Kindergarten is an early childhood formal educational level (age: under 7 years old). Kindergarten curriculum is focused on the provision of educational stimulation to assist the growth and development of mind and body so that the children are ready to enter a further educational level later.Kindergarten school is divided into two groups. Group A and group B. This grouping system is based on the age of the students. Kindergarten is hosting students from the age of 4 to 7 years. work MAIN ACTIVITIES : The students are given lessons based on their level. The lessons are aiming to improve the children’s creativity and raise their interest to get knowledge though a variety of approaches such as tact value, social skills, religion, emotion, physical, motoric, cognitive, language, art, and independence. All approaches are designed in order to develop their intellect and their role in society. The school is located in a rural area with few public facilities (banks, malls, and internet). Most of the schools are located in the small villages. VOLUNTEER TASKS : The role of the volunteer will be to assist the local teacher in supervising the children in class as well as arranging educative programs such as music, singing, dancing, art, drawing, handicraft and introduction of basic English as a foreign language.

A propos du travail de volontaireBRIEF DESCRIPTION AND MAIN AIMS : Primary school is the first step formal education level after kindergarten. It is a compulsory education that every child has to take. This educational level is not only about knowledge but also about other aspects such as character building. The teacher and the parents are having an important role in leading their children. In this level the aim is, to build discipline amongst the students and to develop their understandings on the need and importance of education. Furthermore the aim is to prepare the students of kindergarten for elementary level and to prepare students of elementary school for the higher level of education. Those schools are located in the rural area and some of them are located in the slope of the mountain. Most of the student parents’ are working in the private sector such as farming, trade, labor, etc. The schools location might be far away from the public services such as sports centers, shopping malls or bus terminals. The local people’s characters are family oriented, having good friendship spirit, having plenty of time to spend nevertheless that they are less in touch with modern life and thinking. work MAIN ACTIVITIES : Preparing the students for the higher level of education. Teaching and learning activities. Sports, art and music activities. Develop self-interest of the students. Localisation du projetSince the project site and camp site are separated, it takes 15 minute walk to go to project site. During the walk, you will find several beautiful landscape.During leisure time, you can visit some cafe or garden near by the campsite. It s very relaxing :)

Informations supplémentaires sur le projetTegalrejo Red-District area is a prostitution area in Semarang Regency. There are more than 100 families who mostly work as sex workers or food sellers. We run this project since 2006 together with our mother organization PKBI. This work camp focus on improving quality life of marginalized kids so they will threaten fairly and less discriminated. Most of the children living in this area dont have birth certificate, since their parent dont have identity card either. On the other hand, they couldnt afford higher level of school, and must faces high-risk-sexual activity scene (such as violence, sex bargaining, or sexual exploitation) as their playing ground. By this situation we worked with local stakeholder to provide Non-formal education where children can read books, make handicraft, fun studying, and cross cultural understanding with volunteer.

A propos du travail de volontaireCreate fun atmosphere for kids in village to study about Borobudur Temple Compound and the history of it by storytelling, games, drawing, etc. Create creative media to promote local heritage, raising awareness local people about their heritage by campaign, either a cross-culture understanding class. Help local people to protect the environment such as managing garbage to waste bank.

A propos du logement sur placeVolunteers will stay with host family with shared toilet and bathroom. Volunteers will discuss with the member for daily cooking.

Localisation du projetThe location will take place in the village nearby Borobudur temple. It s very beautiful village with natural landscape surrounded and the people itself. Nearby the camp site, you can find several places to visit during your leisure time such as hills, historic places, buildings and cafe.

Ramadhan Camp will emphasize an introduction of Muslim culture in Indonesia especially about Ramadhan and its meaning for Indonesian moslem. This workcamp offers a cultural experience and study about Ramadhan life in Indonesia including the Ramadhan working hours, sleeping and wake up management, way of working, schedules, food and drinks, cookies, etc. This workcamp is located in orphanage; it is a Muslim orphanage that accommodates not only children without parents but also needy children whose parents could not afford for their formal education. Poverty is a main reason why these parents entrust their children under the education of the orphanage.

A propos du travail de volontaireVolunteer will assist teach the orphans about cleanliness and create fun atmosphere for them while they are practicing to fasting. Volunteer will do some daily activity with local community such as cooking, cleaning, and learning how local community doing their worship during Ramadan.

A propos du logement sur placeVolunteers will stay in the house together with the students. The bed room will be separated by the gender (Part of moslem culture). Food will be organized by the team (self cooking by dividing the group).

Informations supplémentaires sur le projetBe ready for very early breakfast for Ramadhan at 3 am, sleepy daytime, praying songs during most evenings. Be ready for the basic accommodation, since the volunteers will stay in the orphanage. Your clothes should cover your knees, shoulder, and veils.

It was built to provide high quality of education services, particularly to young generation of Kaur, as well as to reduce inequalities in terms of education under the initiative of Kaur’s local heroes, Hermen Malik and M. Daud Abdullah. However, the school is also open to those who strive for an excellent education from any regions in Indonesia. The school provides extracullicular in science such as nanotechnology, biotechnology, renewable energy and robotics. Bringing the concept of boarding school integrated with public formal school, SMAN 10 Pentagon Kaur continually builds and develops its reputation through various activities. It is because the founding fathers have been highly aware towards the Kaur Regency development through inclusive education to succesfully face contemporary tight global competitiveness in almost every life aspects. As for the year of 2018, SMAN 10 Pentagon Kaur arranges to invite foreign volunteer who is keen to help the school pursuing its excellence through English language learning and cultural exchange. 1. To introduce creative learning through creative methods e.g. seminar, focus group discussion, games, etc.

2. To participate in school events e.g. summer camp, seminar, commemoration of national day, etc.

3. To mingle with locals in order to learn local culture and spread peace through living together in harmony and tolerance in diversity.

4. To represent school in official events.

5. To share positive reputation of the school.

25 to 40 hours/week; specifically every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Particularly during 07.00 – 14.00 WIB (Western Indonesian Time). Sometimes, the volunteer is needed to support the school events during the national days.

Informations supplémentaires sur le projet1. Weather can be up to 40 degree in dry season.volunteer needs to be aware of different seasons with her/his home country. 2. Local people are very respectful of local culture and religion. Some topics might become sensitive to talk such as LGBT and premarital sex. 3. Meals, support for volunteer and transportation (car) for visa extension will be covered by the school, except flight ticket and fee for visa extension.
