Presentation of the programmeKaunas lagoon regional park directorate is a governmental organisation established in 1992 with the purpose to preserve and keep Kaunas lagoon (man-made) unique nature: cliffs, outcrops, rare animal and plant species for future generations. We are responsible for managing regional infrastructure and control of people living in the regional park about keeping the environmental laws. We have 7 employees responsible for monitoring, inspection, educational activities, events and other activities. Our daily work varies from office to nature :) Two different volunteering positions are available: 1) practical work ( fixing infrastructure, cutting bushes, grass, monitoring visitors, nature observation, counting numbers of animals, birds, plants). 2) working with kids and adults in the visitors centre, and with the "Young ranger" circle (organizing activities for little kids) helping with monitoring nature, herb picking, sign making, taking photos and videos of daily activities.

Local accommodation- Accommodation in a private room in a shared apartment - Monthly ticket for public transportation - Monthly food and pocket money (220 eur/month)

About the leisure activities possible- Volunteering group meetings once a month - Meeting with a mentor once a month - On-arrival and mid-term trainings - Online language learning - Participating in public solidarity events - Organization of info/promo solidarity events

RequirementsThe Participant profile: Apply for this project, if: - You are 18-30 years old - Interested in nature and environment,a hard worker, self-organized, responsible and motivated to learn - Interested in working with adults and kids, creative and curious

Extra info about the projectThe project is implemented under the European Solidarity Corps Programme, financed by the European Commission.
The participating organisations have to be mindful of these needs as they are responsible for providing a respectful and trusting hosting environment. At the same time, the organisations participating in the initiative devote a great deal of time, energy and resources to set up a high-quality activity; they should therefore expect that European Solidarity Corps participants show a similar level of respect for the local communities and the people that are directly concerned by the activities (https://youth.europa.eu/solidarity/mission_en).
