About the local hosting organizationpewobe g GmbH in Frankfurt (Oder) is a registered organisation in the youth welfare service in Germany. The publicaccreditation has been done in Eisenhüttenstadt and in Frankfurt (Oder) in 1994 and 1996. Since then we are running several independent organisations which are all based on the federal law for youth and child service. This includes kindergardens, youth clubs, truants projects, assisted living for youngsters and the child emergency service as well as assistance for families in need. All organisations within the Associsation are asked to have an international orientation and educate for tolerance. For this the organisations have cooperations in several countries. In our own facilities we hosted international youth meetings since 1999. Young people from Frankfurt (Oder), Germany and Slubice, Poland are volunteering to make this projects participatory. Within Erasmus+ and the European Solidarity Corps we implement mainly youth exchanges, as well as volunteering projects. We hosted volunteers regularly since 2014. We make sure to include young people with fewer opportunities in our projects, especially young refugees. In unserer eigenen Einrichtung fanden seit 1999 internationale Jugendbegegnungen statt.

Presentation of the programmeJoin the volunteering team project “International Youth Camp Volunteers – Freizeit gestalten mit Blick in die Zukunft” and become part of an international group of 15 young people creating an unforgettable summer experience for teenagers. This project is a great opportunity to gain experience in international youth work, develop your creativity, meet people from different countries and turn your ideas into reality. Volunteers will prepare and lead educational, creative and practical workshops, organise activities for young people and support an international summer camp based on tolerance, solidarity and intercultural exchange. The camp will be a space for learning, fun, teamwork and new experiences. As a volunteer, you will have the chance to grow personally and professionally in a peaceful, safe and supportive environment while learning more about the values of the European Solidarity Corps.

Local accommodationThe project will take place in two phases. During the first phase, volunteers will stay in shared accommodation and prepare meals together, creating a cosy and international atmosphere. Financial support for food expenses during this phase will be provided. During the second phase, the team will move directly to the summer camp location, where meals will be provided and volunteers will become fully involved in camp life and activities. Local transport related to the project will be covered. Special needs can be taken into consideration.

About the leisure activities possibleAt the beginning of the project, volunteers will take part in the introductory training including team-building activities, task preparation, safety and security information, and support in developing workshops and activities for young people. Extra info about the projectThe project is implemented under the European Solidarity Corps Programme, financed by the European Commission.
The participating organisations have to be mindful of these needs as they are responsible for providing a respectful and trusting hosting environment. At the same time, the organisations participating in the initiative devote a great deal of time, energy and resources to set up a high-quality activity; they should therefore expect that European Solidarity Corps participants show a similar level of respect for the local communities and the people that are directly concerned by the activities (https://youth.europa.eu/solidarity/mission_en).
