Presentation of the programmeThis project takes place at Kolde Lasteaed, a kindergarten in Tallinn that provides a supportive and creative environment for young children. The kindergarten values care, safety, cooperation, and trust, while helping children develop through play, learning, and everyday activities. The volunteer will support teachers in daily activities such as games, arts and crafts, music, sports, outdoor play, and cultural events. They will also help introduce children to different cultures and traditions through creative activities, songs, and games, while contributing to a warm and inclusive atmosphere in the kindergarten. Through the project, the volunteer will gain practical experience in early childhood education, improve communication and teamwork skills, and learn more about Estonian culture and language in an international environment. Local accommodationESC Volunteers will be provided with suitable accommodation conveniently located near their respective hosting organisation. Accommodation will typically be in a shared apartment or hostel, furnished with essential items. Rooms may be private or shared, depending on availability, with shared kitchen and bathroom facilities. Volunteers receive €5/day pocket money and additional €7/day food allowance, managing their own meals. International travel is reimbursed based on set travel budget and task related local transport is covered to full extent.

About the leisure activities possibleVolunteers will take part in the ESC training cycle organized by the Estonian National Agency, which focuses on personal development and intercultural learning. Additionally, EstYES organizes hikes and other activities for volunteers throughout the service period, providing opportunities for social interaction.

RequirementsThe Participant profile: - Motivated to work with young children and patient - Friendly, open-minded, and positive - Basic English communication skills - Willing to participate actively in daily kindergarten life - Interested in cultural exchange and sharing their background - Creative or has artistic skills (an advantage but not required)

Extra info about the projectThe project is implemented under the European Solidarity Corps Programme, financed by the European Commission.
The participating organisations have to be mindful of these needs as they are responsible for providing a respectful and trusting hosting environment.
