À propos de l'organisme d'accueil local
This project is actively working for SDG 11 (sustainable cities and communities) and SDGs 15 (Life on land), organized together with a local organization ''Takumashii Mirai(TM). They live in Shiiba village, is faces serious aging society and depopulation, but it has very beautiful scenery, traditional agriculture, and traditional culture and is one of the Japan's Three Hidden Villages. They are trying restoring a renovating an old house into a share house to promote the “Self-Sufficiency 2.0“ lifestyle project it is people create their own lives. However, due to a shortage of workers and natural disasters such as typhoons, progress on improving the environment has been slow. To further the development of a self-sufficient shared house, the TM would like to build a small chicken coop with workcamp members in this time, with the goal of bringing living creaturesâspecifically cage-free farmingâinto our daily lives. Since there is a lot of wildlife in the surrounding area, TM need to build a sturdy chicken coop that will keep out predators, and local host would like to enlist the help of volunteers for this. In this way, by creating various things together through this workcamp, TM wants to build a place where everyone who has been involved can “come back to.“
Présentation du programme
1) Cutting and preparing the materials needed for the chicken coop, joining them together, and assembling the coop. 2) Digging a trench & filling it with blocks to prevent intruders from entering. 3) If time permits, maintaining the bamboo grove on the hill behind the village or helping with tasks within the community.
