Der Verein wurde 1990 von Umweltaktivisten in Wismar gegründet. Ab 1994 veränderte sich das Arbeitsspektrum mehr in Richtung Umweltbildung und Erlebnispädagogik für Jugendliche. Auch kulturelle und soziale Projekte spielten eine Rolle. In den nächsten Jahren rückten abenteuerpädagogische Zielstellungen und interkultureller Austausch in den Mittelpunkt. Unsere Teilnehmer „entführen“ wir oft in die Berge, auf Kletterfelsen, wilde Flüsse oder in die Luft. Erlebnisse im Außen versuchen wir dabei mit Selbstwahrnehmung und persönlicher innerer Entwicklung zu verknüpfen. Hinzu gekommen sind Projekte, die darauf abzielen, die Welt durch Handeln zu verändern, Unzulänglichkeiten nicht einfach hinzunehmen und junge Menschen anzuregen, ihre Kräfte und Talente zu entwickeln und einzusetzen. Dabei nehmen interkulturelle Begegnungen einen besonderen Platz ein. Wir haben internationale Jugendaktionen in Deutschland, Italien, Schweden, der Ukraine, Slowenien, der Slowakei, Russland und Rumänien initiiert und begleitet. Die Teilnehmer können die Welt begreifen und Ansätze wie Fremdenfeindlichkeit werden durch persönliche Bekanntschaften und Freundschaften ad absurdum geführt. Viele der Teilnehmer gewinnen ein Stück Heimat auch in der Fremde, bleiben für ein Freiwilligenjahr oder verlieben sich. Gegenwärtig verfügt der Verein über etwa 50 aktive Mitglieder, ca. 20 Ehrenamtliche. Darüber hinaus gibt es jährlich durchschnittlich 4 EVS Freiwillige und ca. 30 ausgebildete Jugendleiter verschiedenster Nationalität, die aktiv Aktionen leiten und begleiten, sowie eine Menge Sympathisanten, die uns durch Taten oder Geld unterstützen. Seit einigen Jahren bauen wir ein internationales Jugendleiter-Innen-Team auf. Seit 2006 ist der Verein regelmässig in Sibirien aktiv.seit 2016 mit dem Aufbau eines 2. Standortes am Ufer des Tiberkulsees, der "Taigaschule". Seit 2019 engagiert sich der Verein gemeinsam mit einem Bürgernetzwerk besonders beim Aufbau des Naturparks Zentralny Sayan, der eine nachhaltige Wirtschaftszone und ein Modellprojekt für alternative Gesellschaftsformen einschliesst. In diesem Zusammenhang ist die internationale Vernetzung durch Freiwilligenprojekte besonders wichtig. und in Sibirien veranstaltet. Many of the participants gain a piece of home abroad, stay for a year as a volunteer or fall in love. The association currently has around 50 active members, around 20 volunteers. In addition, there are yearly an average of 4 EVS volunteers and approx. 30 trained youth leaders of various nationalities who actively lead and accompany campaigns, as well as a lot of sympathizers who support us with deeds or money. We have been building an international youth leader team for a number of years. The association has been regularly active in Siberia since 2006. Since 2016 with the construction of a second location on the banks of the Tiberkulsees, the "Taiga School". Since 2019, the association has been involved in building the nature park together with a citizen network Zentralny Sayan, a sustainable economic zone and a model project for alternative forms of society includes. In this context, international networking through volunteer projects is particularly important.

Participants undertake landscape maintenance work in old estate parks, removing deadwood and helping to build a treehouse and an environmental education center. They will have the opportunity to learn about adventure education methods and approaches, and especially on weekends, to gain initial experience in paddling, sailing, and adventure games. They will also have the opportunity to connect with young people from Europe, Asia, and Africa.

Accommodation will be provided at the "Alter Pferdestall" event and holiday venue, offering shared rooms, showers, sanitary facilities, agroup kitchen, and event spaces. Participants will organize shopping and cooking in teams. Four bicycles, a call-a-bus service, and the Germany Ticket (D-Ticket) will ensure flexible mobility and access to nearby supermarkets. During outdoor activities, participants will camp in tents and bring their own backpacks, sleeping mats, and sleeping bags. A limited number of tents will be available.

Participants will develop communication, teamwork, leadership, and problem-solving skills through daily collaboration and shared responsibilities. Working in an international environment will strengthen their English skills and intercultural competence. Practical activities will enhance outdoor, environmental, and adventure education skills. Reflection sessions and the Youthpass process will support personal development, self-confidence, resilience, and awareness of individual learning outcomes.

The Participant profile: We are looking for open-minded, motivated, and socially engaged young people who enjoy working in a team and are interested in nature, sustainability, and outdoor activities. Participants should be willing to live in an international community, communicate in English, and contribute actively to daily tasks. No specific qualifications are required—curiosity, respect for others, flexibility, and a positive attitude are the most important qualities.

The project is implemented under the European Solidarity Corps Programme, financed by the European Commission.
The participating organisations have to be mindful of these needs as they are responsible for providing a respectful and trusting hosting environment.
